Pentagon to Detail Troops to Bolster Domestic Security
The U.S. military expects to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States by 2011 trained to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe, according to Pentagon officials.
The long-planned shift in the Defense Department's role in homeland security was recently backed with funding and troop commitments after years of prodding by Congress and outside experts, defense analysts said.
There are critics of the change, in the military and among civil liberties groups and libertarians who express concern that the new homeland emphasis threatens to strain the military and possibly undermine the Posse Comitatus Act, a 130-year-old federal law restricting the military's role in domestic law enforcement.

The former Republican presidential candidate, who has introduced legislation to abolish the Federal Reserve Board, claims the Fed is unconstitutional.
His bill, H.R. 2755, would also require that U.S. currency be backed by gold or silver.
“They (the Federal Reserve Banks) are the official counterfeiters,” Paul told CNSNews.com. “The Constitution says only gold and silver can be used as legal tender. Printing paper money or creating money with a computer is not permissible, and economically it’s a disaster.”

Texas Congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul
announced today his endorsement of a new youth organization, Young Americans for Liberty (YAL).
YAL is a youth-based activist organization that will continue the work of its predecessor, Students for Ron Paul. During the presidential campaign, Students for Ron Paul established over 500 college and high school chapters across all 50 states and recruited more than 26,000 students.
Paul recalled the thousands of young people attracted to the college rallies during his 2008 presidential campaign, saying, "It is these young men and women who will become tomorrow's champions of liberty. That's why I am giving my enthusiastic endorsement to Young Americans for Liberty."

Today [Dec. 01, 2008] it was finally revealed officially that the United States has been in a recession since December of 2007. After all it is important to tell the driver that the exit ramp we passed 12 exits ago was the one we should have taken. Thanks for that.
During the seemingly millions of GOP primary debates Ron Paul was ridiculed. Yet back in one of those debates in January of 2008, less than a month after the recession began, Ron Paul said the following:
“I believe we are in a recession. I believe it’s going to get a lot worse.”

As the printing presses for the bailouts run at full speed, those in power are no longer even pretending that the new giveaways will fix our problems. Now that we are used to rewarding failure with taxpayer-funded bailouts, we are being told that this is “just a start,” more funds will inevitably be needed for more industries, and that things would be much worse had we done nothing.
The updated total bailout commitments add up to over $8 trillion now. This translates into a monetary base increase of 75 percent over the last two months. This money does not come from some rainy day fund tucked away in the budget somewhere – it is created from thin air, and devalues every dollar in circulation. Dumping money on an economy, as they have been doing, is not the same as dumping wealth. In fact, it has quite the opposite effect.
One key attribute that gives money value is scarcity. If something that is used as money becomes too plentiful, it loses value. That is how inflation and hyperinflation happens.

Consider; Charles de Gaulle was president of France at the age of 79. Some say he was the greatest modern leader in French history.
Ditto for Konrad Adenhauer, declared by many to be the greatest president of the German Republic in its modern history. Compare him to Helmut Kohl, for example, who presided over the reunification of Germany and was in the process of a Shakespearian moment, with greatness thrust on him, only to self implode in the midst of a tawdry, greedy scandal. Adenhauer served Germany with wisdom and class until the age of 87.
Remember, the last “old” president America had was Ronald Reagan, who left office at 78.

Controversy continues to surround President-elect Barack Obama's
eligibility to serve as president, and a case involving his birth certificate waits for its day before the U.S. Supreme Court. A constitutional lawyer said were it to be discovered that Mr. Obama is not a natural-born U.S. citizen, it would have grave consequences for the nation.
According to the Constitution, a president must be a natural born citizen of the U.S. Mr. Obama's critics have failed to force him legally to produce his original birth certificate, and Mr. Obama has resisted any attempt to make him do so. Currently, only Hawaii Department of Health officials have access to Mr. Obama's original records.
Some of Mr. Obama's critics have said he was born in Kenya and have claimed he is a citizen of Kenya, Indonesia, or even a British subject.

You can debate all you want about the President, Congress, and what
not, but the real power lies in the Federal Reserve Bank and Treasury Department. There was little fight put up over the $700 billion bailout of Wall St. and even that now seems like a relatively small amount of cash compared to what the Fed has been doing. And our Congress sits back, watches and does nothing.
The Federal Reserve. Most people know little or nothing about it. Are it's origins ever taught in high schools or colleges?
Not everyone thinks highly of the Federal Reserve or our debt based economy. Presidential candidate Ron Paul, who I supported, is highly critical of the Fed and has called for its dissolution. He was labled "nutty" for his views. In 1992, Ross Perot warned us about the nation's debt and the outsourcing of our manufacturing base. He was also labeled a "kook" by the media. Paul and Perot are being proved correct by the current economic disaster facing our nation.
This credit card mentality is destroying our economy. The Federal government lives on debt and the total federal debt always rises.

But the truth is, if U.S. economic policy looked a lot more like Ron Paul's ideal than what we've had these past decades, the nation wouldn't be tottering on the financial abyss. Dr. Paul has long argued that an economy built on easy credit, insatiable consumption and deficit spending is a time bomb. He backs a national economic model based on savings, investment and production.
An economy that depends so heavily on government intervention to keep it afloat is one that creates of necessity an ever more powerful state. The nationalization of the banking sector only increases the power of the central government and decreases liberty. Dr. Paul warned for years against what we're seeing happen today.

Texas Congressman Ron Paul has warned that international forces are planning the creation of a global central bank that will see a new fiat monetary system come to dominate the world economy.
The 2008 presidential candidate also warned that Barack Obama’s administration will only represent a change in faces and not in policies.

In 2008, the American population has become so stupid that the
majority of voters can no longer linguistically parse the meanings of complex sentences or even understand the implications of cause and effect. Thus, presidential races come down to popularity contests, short slogans and emotionally-driven rallies that offer nothing substantive to an intelligent voter.
The intelligent candidate for this most recent election, Ron Paul, was too "complicated" for mainstream America because he tried to explain the inner workings of the banking system and the money supply. Too bad he didn't know the way to win the hearts of the American voter is to speak to their junk-food-poisoned minds at a fifth-grade level.
It is no exaggeration to say that, through the destructive influence of fast food, America has become a nation of the mentally retarded. Note that this is not a derogatory term, but rather a technical description of the brain function effects of widespread fast food consumption.

Straight shooters, like Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich, telling voters bluntly, how it is, had no chance, since voters elect politicians who tell them what they want to hear. Theoretically, in a democratic system, it is supposed to be this way.
America still waits for a leader, who would dare to tell Americans that majority of them are wrong and they need to change. Will it be Barack Obama?

Fiscally conservative Republicans were lost at sea in the Panic of 2008
Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), with a media profile burnished by his presidential campaign, appeared on CNN many times over the weeks of the crisis to explain why the Federal Reserve was to blame. But Paul was lonelier than ever. No other Republican was willing to suggest that avoiding a bailout and risking "a bad year," as he put it, would forestall several more years of economic central planning. They accepted the crisis narrative and attempted to legislate around the margins.

All libertarian followers will still have a lot of people to educate about the
deeds of our government, but I believe the remnant is larger that we could ever understand. Dr. Congressman Ron Paul is absolutely right, our numbers are indeed growing. Our country is ripe for the R3volution so don't let the talking box of talking heads lead you to believe there is any other problem than people are waking from their own self-induced slavery and realize borrowing to cure their financial indiscretions will not work for longer than the short term. The confidence in this fiat dollar scheme has been lost as knowledge is spreading and the only thing that backs this fiat system is pure economical ignorance.

Since we know what the problem is, how do we fix it? To address the
Fed's shortcomings, Dr. Paul has introduced a number of legislative proposals.
HR 2754, the Sunshine in Monetary Policy Act, would force the Fed to republish M3, the broadest measure of money supply, which would allow a more accurate gauge of potential price inflation. Reporting of M3 was suspended in early 2006, as M3 was beginning to increase at an ever-faster rate. How convenient that the broadest measure of money supply was dropped as the housing boom began to bust, and not long before the turmoil in financial markets began.
HR 2756, the Honest Money Act, would repeal federal legal tender laws. Why should worthless, unbacked paper issued by a private banking monopoly have legal tender status? With legal tender laws in place, bad money forces out good. Our Founding Fathers intended for gold and silver to act as money, not unbacked paper.

We can be thankful for Dr. Paul and the others who continue to lead the
charge, and who have fought their entire lives in spite of constant criticism and disrespect, declining opportunities to compromise their core values or capitulate any ground. And we can be thankful for those no longer with us, who gave their all to advance a cause bigger than their own self-interests.
The climb is steep and the road fraught with numerous challenges, but we must continue to press on under the banner of a message that promises freedom, peace, and prosperity, confident in our principles and unshakable in our resolve. There have been defeats and victories, and more of both await us, but the limits of our accomplishments are only going to be set by the limits of our determination.
May the blessings of liberty be fully enjoyed by current generations once more, and may our efforts irrevokably secure their benefits to our posterity.

Although the Campaign For Liberty is an American political organization and all of our funds are putting toward influencing American politics, we certainly need not isolate ourselves from like-minded people who live elsewhere. Contrary to our earlier understanding, non-U.S. citizens MAY contribute to the Campaign For Liberty, and we certainly don't want to discourage anybody from doing so!

Ron Paul has never been a fan of government spending.
The U.S. Representative from Lake Jackson was the guest speaker at a joint meeting of the Richmond and Rosenberg Rotary clubs Tuesday at Pecan Grove Country Club. His District 14 includes a portion of Fort Bend County.
Paul focused his message squarely on the economy, saying the country is facing the end of a monetary structure it’s had in place since 1971. It was then that the government began printing and spending money at will, he said.
“It’s coming to an end, and it’s a big deal,” Paul warned.

If you reviewed the economic history of the nineteen thirties, or listened a bit to Congressman Ron Paul, you would know it was Franklin D. Roosevelt's dabbling in a depressed private enterprise that extended a depression into an economic disaster that only a world war could bury. Back off and let the incompetents and delinquents eliminate themselves. Survival of the fittest is the name of the game and a dim-witted Congress cannot change that. Do away with all income taxes and raise all federal funds through import duties. Only in this way will we ever put our people back to work and rebuild our industrial base.
