McCain Dazed And Confused

The presidential race reached a turning point last week when John McCain opted for a campaign of denigration employing racial stereotypes, sexualized talking ... Is this the caliber of the GOP?

It's not the man -- it's the movement

Characterizing those ideals is difficult. The Paul supporters I talked to included Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians. They don't always agree, but they are energized by their opposition to the war (they believe President Bush did an end run around the Constitution to launch it) and by concerns about the erosion of civil rights after the 9/11 attacks. Believing that no other party speaks for them, Paul supporters are building their own.

Road to the Rally for the Republic - Update

The best kept secret by the media is.... RON PAUL

THE ONLY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, NOT SPECIAL INTERESTS! No amnesty for illegals, lower taxes for everyone, no Iraq war, foreign policy the way our founding fathers wanted, and a 20 YEAR CONGRESSIONAL TRACK RECORD to PROVE that he actually votes the way he believes! A doctor, a former service member in the military, and married for over 50 years. This man is the real deal!

Ron Paul Affirms: Iran Attack Plan Has ‘Green Light’

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) has warned millions of radio listeners that the afpUnited States is heading into an illegal attack on Iran, stating his amazement at members of Congress who have openly voiced support for a criminal nuclear strike.
“If we do (attack) it is going to be a disaster,” the congressman told the Alex Jones radio show. “I was astounded to see on one of the networks the other day that the debate was not are we going to attack, but are we going to attack before or after the election?” Paul continued.

BJ Lawson and the New Face of the Ron Paul Revolution

For close observers of American politics, liberal or conservative, the campaign for libertyimpact of the Ron Paul campaign has been difficult to ignore. Whether one was amazed by the devotion of Paul’s supporters or the seeming callous disregard for the Paul campaign in the “mainstream” media, the impact of Ron Paul’s campaign for president has undoubtedly left its mark on the political landscape.
The exact contours of this landscape are reflected in the scores of candidates running in local congressional and state races. Among these, the campaign of William “B.J.” Lawson in North Carolina’s 4th district stands out for its candidate, organizational success and fund-raising ability.

This is a last minute push for donations!
We booked a 40'x40' billboard for 2 weeks in downtown MPLS and may use it to advertise for the Rally.
We also booked a 14'x48' digital board also in downtown MPLS.
We may do a buy at the Mall Of America, and possibly another billboard on the I94 loop. Still deciding on some last minute options.

Shortly after voting, I saw the name of another Paul supporter in a nolanMeetup group blog, who won her precinct on the other side of our city. We emailed back and forth. Again, I realized that I'm not alone. She and I will work for the causes of liberty over the new two years within the machinery of the Republican Party. In one of our emails, I mentioned that we will need allies.
Next Thursday, I will attend my first county GOP convention. There we will pick delegates to the state convention, held the following week. There state delegates will pick delegates to the national convention for the first week of September.

Ron Paul 'Gives New Life to Old Debates'

Paul is informative and impassioned, giving readers of any political bent lrc blogfood for thought. With harsh words for both Democrats and Republicans, and especially George W. Bush, Paul's no-nonsense text questions the 'imperialist' foreign policy that's led to the war in Iraq ('one of the most ill considered, poorly planned, and...unnecessary military conflicts in American history'), the economic situation and rampant federalism treading on states' rights and identities ('The Founding Fathers did not intend for every American neighborhood to be exactly the same').

"Rally for the Republic" Event in MN Threatens Republican and Democratic National Conventions

Much like their 10,000 man march on Washington D.C., protesting interventionist war, out of control spending, and violation of Constitutional oaths, expect the media not to mention the event ever happened. It threatens the very foundation of their being to see an uprising of Constitutionalism in the American People. Alas, the damage, however, already has been done. The three-to-five percent of the population necessary to create change has already awoken, and they are hellbent on waking everyone else up. Congress, the President, and the media have no more trust to squander. It is now inevitable that this Revolution occur.

Does America Need a Good Coup de Etat?

America is at a critical threshold in its history, but most Americans seem oped
oblivious to the threats our way of life and freedoms face. We have one of the most corrupt, unconstitutional, illegal and lawless administrations the country has ever seen. We have elements of the military complicit with this lawlessness, and a media that is also playing the same idiotic game. We have a corrupt administration, violating our Constitution at every turn, and a weak and spineless Congress (save for Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich and perhaps a few others) does nothing to try to stop these crimes... also violating their oath to defend the Constitution. We have a media that has sold out all Americans for special interests, and military elements also joining in these crimes.

Two Manifestos, Two Revolutions

The Communist Revolution or total socialism did come to pass in the lewrockwell20th century, notably in the Soviet Union, Red China, and North Vietnam (a land we hit and quit in a long devastating war, costing some 58,000 U.S. casualties). Predictably, all three nations were grotesque dictatorships, devoid of liberty.
Now in 2008 comes another manifesto, another revolution, but one that is the very antithesis of communism, a fervent case for a return to peace and prosperity, per a new book entitled The Revolution: A Manifesto, an American salvation spellbinder by Ron Paul, a true GOP originalist, an obstetrician turned political visionary with 4,000 deliveries to his credit, an ex-presidential candidate who raised some $35 million dollars and sparked a big swing of mostly young supporters in putting forth his amazing cause of Constitutionalism and freedom.

The Resurrection of the American Republic

I´ve been reading, watching, listening, to the pessimistic outlook on the american chroniclefuture of this once great nation called the United States of America, which is the pinnacle of western civilization. Highly oversexed advertisements and television commercials where women show off their asses and shake their hips to sell a body spray, or a shaving cream plague our satellite waves (owned by News Corp) dumbing down the once intelligent citizenry of America. It seems, according to these American media outlets, we want nothing more than to live in our ignorant bubble never caring about how many American soldiers died in combat, or how many innocent civilians (or collateral damage) were caught in the crossfire, or how the government continues to bamboozle the American people into starting a fight with Iran.

Engel/Paul “Securing Our Borders and Our Data Act”

Washington, DC - Congressman Ron Paul is an original cosponsor of press releaselegislation introduced July 31st that would ensure that a traveler entering the United States would be subject to searches of their data and digital equipment only if a border agent has a reasonable suspicion to believe the traveler is or is about to be engaged in criminal activity.
In an August 1, 2008 front page story, the Washington Post exposed the ease with which the government can search and/or seize a traveler’s laptop, blackberry, or other electronic device. A border agent can require any individual to provide access to private or other sensitive data with no cause. They can require the owner to surrender their password for encrypted data as well.
“The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution acknowledges the right of the people to be secure in their persons and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures. It is unfortunate that it takes legislation to remind border agents of this Constitutionally protected right, but it is apparent to me that HR 6702 is absolutely necessary,” stated Congressman Paul.

Washington's Intervention Addiction

texas straight talk
One problem with politicians is that when problems they create come to a head, they typically feel this irresistible urge to DO something, rather than to UN-do something, or to simply back off to avoid exacerbating the situation. Too often, that which they end up doing has very little connection to the cause of the crisis, but plays well in the press and superficially makes everyone feel better. Bills that are rushed through Congress under duress are never studied enough, providing too tempting an opportunity to quietly slip in unrelated provisions that erode freedoms in ways that would never pass as a stand-alone bill. We famously saw this with the PATRIOT Act, but Washington learned nothing from that.

Ron Paul - More and More Independent

There is nothing the Republican Party wants more than party unity, but plthey have a strange way of going about it. For instance, Ron Paul and his supporters were made to feel less than welcome at the local conventions like Nevada As a matter of fact, the only local convention where Ron Paul and his supporters were welcome was Montana All he wanted was to be allowed to speak at the National Convention, to get his point across and hopefully get some of his agenda on the national platform.
When it became obvious that that was not going to happen, he found a way to get the attention he needs - convene his own convention - on the second night of the Republican Convention.

Revolution March Blacked Out By Media

Over 10,000 citizens attend historic protest in Washington DC, news stations absent.
huffingtonpostWe need to be aware that we live in a country where the only individuals who are allowed to be viable candidates for president are those who fit into the picture that corporate interests want to see in the leading role for their own string-less Pinocchio act. People like Ron Paul who speak out against the real threats to our country, (namely Dick Cheney, Daddy Bush and all his Bushlets, and the old white men who control the Federal Reserve), are ridiculed or systematically left out of the punditry and political public conversation. Its funny how the same folks who are making billions profiteering off the Iraq invasion with Pentagon contracts are the ones who own the major news stations and publications putting out a pro-war, terror-threat message while silencing and discrediting the peacemakers and opposition. Actually, it's not funny at all.

As a matter of fact, any construction of new bases in the United States is prohibited by this bill. While I am not necessarily in favor of building new bases in the United States , we certainly should not be spending money to close existing domestic bases in favor of constructing new bases overseas.
The bill will transfer more than $200 million to NATO, an organization with no purpose that should be disbanded immediately, for the construction of NATO facilities in countries where we have no business having our military in the first place.
