It can be argued that both Ron Paul's masterful schooling of Giuliani during the debates and his success in dividing voters has effectively torpedoed the former New York Mayor's campaign.
It is now common knowledge that Giuliani is completely broke despite the fact that he hardly spent any money in Iowa. It will be virtually impossible for him to regain any momentum, and it's largely thanks to Ron Paul. January 04, 2008Permalink
Ron Paul - 29%
John McCain - 23%
Mitt Romney - 19%
Mike Huckabee - 17%
Ron Paul was the best at converting the Independent voters and this proves that he will be a formidable threat in New Hampshire. January 04, 2008Permalink
Similarly, ABC news announced Monday that they would only take the top five candidates for their next debate and would exclude Ron Paul if he did not get double digits in Iowa. Mr Snyder confirmed that now Dr Paul has achieved both those mandates it seems certain ABC will include the Congressman in the debate which is scheduled for two days before the New Hampshire primary. Freedom is ours for the taking, but it is still out of our reach. Don’t expect the MSM to suddenly change their opinions when we embarrass them in New Hampshire. They will continue to deny fair coverage and you can expect smears and attacks. Don’t expect the Revolution to suddenly take root because we are finally a viable movement according to the MSM. We must double our efforts, and double them again. Get out and talk to everybody you can, face to face. January 04, 2008Permalink
Finally, yours is one of many complaints that we have received over the years about Fox’s newscasts, but as I explained above, they can air pretty much whatever they want on the news - even if it’s false, misleading, or slanted. January 04, 2008Permalink
According to Politifact.com and their popular "Truth-o-Meter" tool, Ron Paul is the most truthful presidential candidate out of the entire field, Democrats and Republicans included, and has not lied once during televised public debates.
The website is an offshoot of the St. Petersburg Times newspaper and ranks the candidates based on the truthfulness of their responses to questions and answers given during debates. January 04, 2008Permalink
I'm watching CNN's coverage of the Iowa Caucus, and I'm just amazed at the how blatantly they're ignoring Ron Paul entirely. I have always considered the bias against him to be the result of his low numbers, but as I'm watching this I can only conclude that they just don't want him getting attention. Let me explain. January 04, 2008Permalink
To appreciate Paul’s Iowa Victory we must understand what Jefferson meant by tyranny over the mind of man. If you understand how a tyranny over the mind is created and how propaganda works to tyrannies ends then you begin to understand the magnitude of the Ron Paul Victory in the first in the Nation’s Caucuses. January 04, 2008Permalink
I'm not spouting conspiracy theories. I'm just saying, one minute Rudy has 50% of the vote in Linn County, and the next, he has 5%. I have no idea what system they use in Iowa to count the votes, and if there is any electronic tally involved, but this is a pretty notable error, that was repeated on all the networks, evidently originating from the Assocated Press. January 04, 2008Permalink
Like some others involved in the Ron Paul Revolution I was disappointed in the results in Iowa initially. Yet over 11,000 IA caucus goers got out the vote for liberty, 10%. Surprisingly, it is estimated the American Revolution was started with less than 10% of the population actually supporting the idea.

A look at the 23 Eastern most counties in Iowa paints a different picture, however. In that region, which includes the college town of Iowa City and the counties north, south and east of Iowa City, placed Ron Paul at an impressive 14% - or in third place.
Of the 23 counties in the Eastern section of Iowa, only 5 placed Ron Paul in single digits. Of those 5, however, Paul registered with approximately 9% of the vote in four of those counties. His average was essentially brought down by voters in the large number (but less populated) rural counties of Iowa. January 04, 2008Permalink

“I don’t buy that there’s no reason for concern,” he continued. “Maybe you don’t compete for first place, or second, but do you really feel comfortable coming in sixth - basically last? It’s not like he never went to Iowa, he has been there, he had people on the ground there up until about a week ago, and right now he’s running behind Ron Paul in new Hampshire, too. Fox doesn't return phone calls or e-mails seeking an explanation for excluding Paul, probably because it's very difficult to explain how you invite Giuliani, who's already lost one election to Paul, and the more-famous Thompson, who ran ahead of the lesser-known Paul in Iowa but trails him in New Hampshire polls. January 04, 2008Permalink
In other words, it does not matter that Paul beat Giuliani: he will not be asked to attend. Of course, there is a reason for this — Giuliani is an establishment candidate and Ron Paul is an outsider who talks dangerously about liberty, taxes, the Iraq “war,” and the Constitution. Since he is not reading from the establishment script, there will be no room for him on the bus. January 04, 2008Permalink
But America, as local Meetup organizer Paul Davis pointed out in his speech at the Austin, Texas Tea Party of 2007, has already been changed forever by this movement of regular Americans stepping up to restore the rule of law to this country, to prevent any further descent of our society into this brave old world of mercantilism, perpetual war, and the expansion of executive power into every aspect of our lives – and even to make some major reversals before the worst consequences of empire come due. January 04, 2008Permalink
What does this all mean to Ron Paul. Well, Ron Paul has shown that in an ultra-religious conservative state that he can pull 10% of the vote...double digits. It has shown that he can pull close to the well known, stalwart of the Republican establishment, warhorse John McCain. He is literally within spitting distance of third place in a state that is not tailored to him. A state where he would not promise ongoing farm subsidies. This is a huge feat...one that cannot be discounted.
Folks...this is a marathon...not a sprint. Watch and see...the Ron Paul movement will continue to grow. January 04, 2008Permalink
As MSNBC's online political note put it at the time, Giuliani may want to "hire out Paul for the campaign trail -- he could be the Washington Generals to Rudy's Globetrotters" (i.e., the patsy willing to get beaten in every game).
That was then, this is now. In Iowa, Paul, 10%; Giuliani, 4%. January 04, 2008Permalink
The top candidate quality among Republican caucusgoers in the poll was someone who "shares my values," with Huckabee winning 44 percent of these voters, Romney 26 percent. Huckabee won among Republicans, but among independents -- who made up just 13 percent of the Iowa GOP electorate but are more of a factor in New Hampshire -- 29 percent supported Texas Rep. Ron Paul, 23 percent Ariz. Sen. John McCain, 19 percent Romney and 17 percent Huckabee. January 04, 2008Permalink
Ronald Reagan lost the Iowa caucuses in 1980 before going on to victory. And this year, Ron Paul got more than 10% of a bunch dominated by older party hacks, neocons, Bush lovers, and religious rightists. It was NOT a group equivalent to the people of Iowa, let alone the people of New Hampshire or the rest of the country. Indeed, considering the media hate and supression campaign waged almost unanimously against him, this was a credible finish. January 04, 2008Permalink
We're tired of being told about a Social Security trust fund that never existed, a government that is here to help us and an income tax that really, really does make us liable to pay – cross our hearts and hope to die (just don't read the law please). We're tired of being treated like children. We treat our own children much better than the bureaucrats, whom you constantly claim have our best interests at heart, treat us. We're tired of being told that we should live our lives in fear of people six thousand miles away; who hate us because we're free, when we aren't actually free. We're tired of being told that every encroachment upon our freedoms is justified because the world is "different now." Different from what? Does our dictator wear a different brand of suit than the one whose country was bombed into oblivion on his orders? January 04, 2008Permalink
A double digit finish in Iowa is success. Although not at the top of the pack, Ron Paul is making an impact on America that is hard to deny. He's done it in the face of a party that has literally spat in the face of his ideas. He's done it in the face of a nation that still does not understand the basic tenents of monetary policy or even their own political history. January 04, 2008Permalink
"I am more encouraged than ever before," he said. Although Paul finished in fifth place, he noted that he was ahead of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
"We the people, who care about the country and the constitution," Paul said. "I don't think we're going to let it die." January 03, 2008Permalink
Huckabee was going to win the Christian Iowa vote, no surprise. However, he has no money, and recent efforts even after his jump in the polls has been pitiful. As I've said before, a good showing for Ron Paul tonight would bring in more media coverage, more campaign donations, and theoretically more support in the next round of primaries. Everyone wants to write Ron Paul off, but with no clear leader, and major issues with the two front runners, Ron Paul could come out smelling like roses tonight. January 03, 2008Permalink
Forget the Iowa Caucuses. Even forget the US Presidential race. CNN appears to be preparing a showdown with Fox News in an effort to capitalize on a groundswell of anger cast towards Fox News and its exclusion of Republican candidate Ron Paul.
The long term Texas Congressman's loyal supporters have threatened to boycott Fox News sponsors and drive its parent company shares down. But the best weapon Ron Paul supporters may have behind them is none other than CNN. January 03, 2008Permalink
GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul today took aim at the notion that United States citizens are entitled to health care.
"One thing we have been taught too often is that health care is a right," he said. "But health care isn't a right. Having a house isn't a right. Having a job isn't a right. Not in a free country. In a free country, you have a right to your life and you have a right to your liberty." January 03, 2008Permalink
I bumped into Ron Paul in the lobby of the Des Moines Marriott earlier today and asked him if he was surprised about the rapid decline in fortunes of the Rudy Giuliani campaign.
“He has views different than mine,” Paul said. “And I am pleased that mine are going to be more popular than his.” January 03, 2008Permalink
"With no income tax and no inflation, believe me, no one would be complaining about buying their health care," he said.
Paul also said America is a wealthy country becoming poorer by the minute because its currency is losing strength. He said right now the United States is "flunking" and moving in the direction of a third-world country. January 03, 2008Permalink

If there is a New Hampshire resident that doesn’t get a personal phone call from the campaign, I will be surprised. If there is a likely Republican or Undeclared voter who does not get their door knocked on I will be surprised.
The campaign could have hired 300 paid staff members for New Hampshire alone and it would not have been money wasted.
And every supporter I’ve met so far is—as has been impressing Rojas—smart, dedicated, willing to do whatever they’re told, and most surprising to me, by now, seasoned. Everybody is working as ambassadors. January 03, 2008Permalink
Ron Paul will end the IRS STEALING from YOU. He will put an end to imprisoning the US population for victim-less drug offenses. He will end the war in Iraq and fix the US economy. On the eve of the Iowa caucus, Fox bans Ron Paul and now ABC considers doing so as well. These noises are the death rattle of a dying establishment. "Ron Paul's like the Joker in a poker game," said one McCain staffer.Paul reportedly dropped three mailers overnight and kicked his phone banks into turbo-mode in an all-out push to make into the final tier of tonight's winners.
Both McCain and Paul are currently tied at about 10% in most polls of likely Iowa caucus-goers. McCain has not actively campaigned in Iowa and skipped last summer's Republican Straw Poll. His visit to the state today just hours before the caucuses was one of his rare campaign trips here.
As Paul greeted his volunteers this morning at his downtown headquarters, the HuffPost asked for the candidate's reaction to McCain's anger: "I'm so excited. I'm excited he's so upset about me." January 03, 2008Permalink
As the old guard progressively shows its true colors, they will rapidly diminish in importance. Case in point: FOX News, now becoming widely known as "Faux News," has seriously damaged their credibility by blatantly disrespecting Dr. Paul. In sum, if you are a pastor or Christian who supports the welfare-warfare state, with its perpetual war for perpetual peace, and never-ending domestic and foreign spending sprees that are bankrupting America and also go against Biblical principals, then Congressman Paul is not your guy. Could it be instead that his stance on the issues is the real barrier to letting American voters see and hear him debate on Fox News just before the crucial first presidential primary takes place? As anyone who travels on American highways can tell you, supporters have spread that slogan on signs all across the country. Like dandelions, the logo seems able to sprout up almost anywhere and everywhere – on overpasses, on onramps, on street poles. Last month, in New Hampshire, I met a woman at a Paul get-together who had driven from her home in Tulsa, Okla., to volunteer in the Granite State for Ron Paul, but not before she had a friend tattoo the 'revolution' logo just above her left breast. I'm not trying to choose sides here, but I'm puzzled that any atheist libertarian in America can possibly think that he can combat omnipotent government without the help of Christians. Polls show that eighty-five percent of the American people believe in God, and over fifty-one percent disbelieve the theory of evolution, so how do atheist libertarians think they're going to win an election if they openly mock Christians? Ron Paul on Wednesday night predicted that he'll defy the odds, confound his naysayers and register a strong showing in today's GOP Iowa caucuses.
The libertarian-leaning Texas congressman said he's adopted a stock response for when reporters and pundits ask him how he'll fare in the leadoff to the presidential nominating process: "I don't know exactly, but I know we're going do a lot better than they claim we're going to do.' Congressman Ron Paul represents a clear and extreme danger to the agenda of the globalists and shadow government who have gone into hyper drive to once and for all destroy this republic and turn America into a world region, so he was to be marginalized at all costs. In their arrogance, the henchmen pulling the strings for the machine decided no one would support Dr. Paul and so he was ignored until December 16, 2007, the day he raised more money than any political candidate in history in a 24-hour period. January 03, 2008Permalink
A CNN poll conducted this past summer indicated that 38% of Republicans opposed the war. Dr. Paul has this group of Republicans all to himself as there are no other major candidates running in this field who share his view on the war. It is also safe to say that the number of Republicans against the war has steadily increased since that point in time. In addition, a spam proof poll conducted by America Online indicates that Dr. Paul is heavily favored to win almost every single state. January 03, 2008Permalink
While third place may not be as good as an outright win, it's good enough to boost momentum for Ron Paul heading into future primaries where his treasure chest for advertising totals upwards of $20 mil. Many of the 2008 US Republican Presidential candidate's supporters believe that once voters realize Paul is a formidable candidate, finishing among the top 3, more Americans are likely to vote for him. 2. Just like the psychotic ex, the more Paul's supporters were ignored the more steadfast they became in their resolve to be heard. "There's going to be a great awakening for those of us who have supported him. Because he's for real," says Barbara Hagan, a former legislator who says she hasn't been as enthusiastic about a candidate since Pat Buchanan ran in 1988.
Paul's pro-gun, anti-war, anti-immigration stance is appealing, she says. "A lot of the things that Buchanan said touched individuals very personally, and I see that happening with Ron Paul. … He's talking about this unbelievable situation in the Middle East, where our sons and daughters are spilling their blood and we have no business being there. And he's saying, 'Get out.' " January 03, 2008Permalink

It is a serious assault on Free Speech when the RNC and other GOP Factions seek to bar the speech of an official candidate for President in the race for the Republican nomination. Ron Paul is under attack by FOX News and various analysts who actually believe he should be removed from debates and the party itself.
The Republican Party and the RNC are afraid that a real candidate would jeopardize their hijacking of conservative issues. “Through the years, New Hampshire presidential primary debates have provided the opportunity for voters to hear from all the major candidates. Unfortunately, ABC and FOX are using unusual participation criteria to limit who will appear on debate stages this weekend. That may serve them well, but does little to serve the electorate. Our first in the nation presidential primary has historically given Democrats and Republicans a fair shot at a free and open debate – a tradition that should continue.” January 02, 2008Permalink

Where is this going? I'll tell you where; to Mandatory Drugging and surgery of all citizens-that, is exactly where all of this is going, complete with mandatory, sterilization and depopulation, is where all of this is going. Ron Paul, by his desire for a Libertarian form of government would, I must say, eliminate the above possibility, by negating such Fascist social programs.
Ron Paul, further says: " Americans are justifiably concerned over the government's escalating intervention into their freedom to choose what they eat and how they take care of their health. I also opposed the Homeland Security Bill, H.R. 5005, which, in section 304, authorizes the forced vaccination of American citizens against small pox. These volunteers' whole idea is to get the world's attention without shouting. But where the Deaniacs got a reputation for being revved-up and angry, the Paul guys are pacific. At Paul's headquarters, they hesitate to bash other candidates, even when I goad them. "Having gone around and watching this thing," said Russert, "to say for example Huckabee wins, Romney is two. McCain comes in third. Thompson is out -- he has already said if he's not two, he's out. I think Ron Paul has a chance of coming in fourth here. I really do."
Whether you look at the race nationally, in Iowa, or in New Hampshire; Ron Paul is polling about as well as John Kerry and John Edwards did at the same point in time in 2004. And when you consider the massive amount of donations Ron Paul has received and the large number of straw polls that Ron Paul has won; Ron Paul is in far better position for a strong finish in this Republican race than the average voter would have considered would be true for Kerry or Edwards. Few people realize that Congress forced Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) on us. HMOs rose to prominence through federal legislation, incentives, and coercion.
Now, the Food and Drug Administration's bias toward large pharmaceutical companies enlarges their power, limits treatment options, and drives consumers to seek Canadian medicines. Regulations from D.C. make it virtually impossible for small business owners to cover their employees. The unemployed often cannot afford insurance, meaning those who need basic medical attention overcrowd emergency rooms and drive up premiums. January 02, 2008Permalink
It was funny to see the dedicated Ron enemy of the recent Meet the Press on MSNBC's Morning Joe today. Russert, using a tone, smile, and body language that clearly communicated, I like this guy, I admire this guy, said, approvingly: "I think Ron Paul can come in fourth tomorrow; he can beat not only Giuliani, but Thompson too. I really think he can." January 02, 2008Permalink
Paul fans are particularly irate with Fox News, who seems to have pulled the plug on their man primarily because they don't agree with his ideas. How else to explain including Fred Thompson, the man who doesn't especially want to be president, at their January 6 round-table forum, while excluding Paul? While out-raising the entire GOP field in 4th-quarter fundraising with a total of over $19 million, Paul positively crushed Thompson, and "The Tennessee Stud's" poll numbers in Iowa and New Hampshire aren't exactly stellar. Musharraf, unfortunately, appears to have learned how to work our system, much in the way a career welfare recipient has learned to do the same. The perpetual welfare recipient promises to look for a job. Musharraf has promised to look for Bin Laden. Both are terrible investments of American taxpayer dollars, however with Musharraf, its been an astonishing $10 billion loss over the last few years. But it is even worse than that. With his recent actions declaring martial law, and dismissing the justices of the supreme court, he is to the rest of the world, and to Pakistanis, a wildly unpopular, power hungry, brutal military dictator. The perception by most is that we are propping him up while simultaneously urging Ms. Bhutto back into Pakistan as a lamb to the slaughter. January 02, 2008Permalink
It’s so incredibly exhilarating, so juicy, so lovely to behold. What is it? It is the fact that the mainstream media, praetorian guard of the status quo, is being forced much against its will to pay attention to the little guy from Texas, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, because as much as this disgusts members of the guard, the ten-term congressman is raising so much money (nearly $19 million so far this quarter alone) that they have to grudgingly acknowledge the ruckus he is also raising, the message he trumpets, the reason his supporters flock to contribute to his campaign. Which is, we’ve lost our way, disaster looms and the only real hope for America’s future is a return to the principles upon which this nation was founded. January 02, 2008Permalink
The Ron Paul movement is probably even more dangerous to America's established money and power elite. The oligarchy within the United States generally doesn't care too much whether the Democrats or Republicans are in power. As long as they can continue to lobby and influence both sides and make slow and steady progress towards their goals...all is good. The oligarchy doesn't generally care too much whether America has socialized medicine, corporate medicine, or free market medicine. So many things that affect America's middle class and poor are irrelevant to them. In the long run it is about influence, power, and control. January 02, 2008Permalink
A Presidential candidate's position on the war on drugs is the first legitimate political litmus test I have seen within my lifetime. The issue is serious, affecting the lives of millions. It is something which calls into question the most fundamental of all human rights: the right to treat your own body as you see fit. Of all the major Presidential candidates, one, and one alone has called for an end to this scourge to the black community: Ron Paul. The other candidates are unconcerned, in favor of the drug war, or too cowardly to speak. Ron Paul has shown the courage of his convictions through his unabashed opposition to the drug war. A Ron Paul White House would end the senseless sellout of America by global elites and would put America first for a change. He would end billions of subsidized loans and giveaway programs to China and other countries that do not have our best interests at heart. He would use that savings to take care of our own people and bring all U.S. troops home to guard our own borders in order to truly secure America from the threat of terrorism. DES MOINES — For Daniela Oliveira, a 23-year-old legal assistant from Dallas, her Ron Paul romance started as many do these days, over the Internet.
"He's taken over YouTube; he's all over the Internet. I just started reading up and so much of what he was saying made sense to me," she said Tuesday. January 02, 2008Permalink
Paul's supporters lay most of their claim to a place in the debate on his mammoth fundraising numbers. To me, the bigger issue is that Paul is consistently outpolling Fred Thompson, who is being allowed into the debate.
So, it's all about Fox News. Paul's out because he's not a Fox News Bush-clone. Say whatever you want about the guy, Fox News shouldn't be able to silence him because they don't like his views. January 01, 2008Permalink
Sorry about the poor video quality, but I'm thrilled to announce that "Big Daddy" Don Garlits is endorsing Ron Paul. A friend of mine who is a friend of Don's shot this video outside his museum in Ocala and my daughter and I did our best to clean up the audio on this camera capture. January 01, 2008Permalink
The Paul brigade has come to Iowa as part of a student outreach effort the campaign calls "Ron Paul's Christmas Vacation," which makes the whole thing sound madcap, like a Chevy Chase movie. And it is a little like that. There are nearly 300 young people staying at camps across the state. The ones nearest Des Moines spend their days hopping on and off a 1980s school bus that's been painted red, white and blue and dubbed the Constitution Coach January 01, 2008Permalink
A third place (or better) finish by Paul, as predicted by the Iowa Independent, will attract an immense amount of attention. The last excuse for ignoring him will be demolished, and he will be riding a very substantial wave of momentum into New Hampshire, his most favorable place. January 01, 2008Permalink
In two 24-hour periods on November 5 and December 16, the campaign raised over $10 million dollars. The total of over $19.5 million represents an increase of nearly 300 percent from its third quarter total of $5.28 million.
For the quarter, the campaign had over 130,000 donors, including over 107,000 new donors. The total was reached with an average donation size that was just under $90. January 01, 2008Permalink
Broadcasting and internet personality Adam Curry recently issued his endorsement of Ron Paul for president.
Adam is best known from his time as an MTV video jockey in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
He also is a pioneer of podcasting, and currently hosts both The Daily Source Code podcast, as well as his show on Sirius Satellite Radio, Adam Curry's PodShow.
However, when money gets taken out of my paycheck, I resent it. And that is a conservative value too.
In an article I wrote yesterday, I explained why farm subsidies are unnecessary. Whenever you give a man a fish, he doesn't appreciate it as much as when you teach him to fish. Likewise, when you subsidize farming, it eats away at the farmers sense of self-worth, because it says that he isn't smart enough or productive enough to meet some government dictate. It also robs the taxpayer to ensure that a farmer is profitable. It's a bad policy all around. January 01, 2008Permalink
2. Ron Paul voters are dedicated to him and will not be swayed at the caucuses to vote for another candidate, while almost all the other candidate's support is soft and will jump ship. Also Ron Paul's campaign will pull in independents, democrats and real conservatives to caucus for him while the other GOP candidates will have to make due with splitting the pro-Bush/pro-interventionist vote. Republican Rep. Ron Paul and his supporters are targeting the Fox News network today after an Internet discussion spread during the weekend that the cable network wasn’t giving the Texas lawmaker a seat at the table for a New Hampshire forum scheduled two days before the state’s Jan. 8 primary. Paul has established that he is factor in the New Hampshire race. Setting a 10 percent standard with national polls seems like a sneaky way to leave him out, especially since the strategy of every underdog campaign (like Paul’s) involves scoring a breakout showing in Iowa or New Hampshire and then expanding support in national polls. Ron Paul’s campaign says he’s planning an alternative event at the same time as the Fox New Channel’s Republican forum in New Hampshire on Sunday if the network continues to hold back on an invitation, a campaign official tells Politico.
Already, blogs are alive with cries of “censorship” from Paul’s vocal and prolific followers. January 01, 2008Permalink

The run up to the presidential primaries of 2008 has been nothing less than a marvel of intrigue for the Republican candidacy of Congressman Ron Paul. This mystic of politics has created a mirage of ubiquity so realistic that it can literally be seen around the world, all while simultaneously remaining shrouded in a cloak of anonymity. No other candidate has managed to appeal to a broader spectrum of the electorate. No other candidate in this race has attracted such a worldwide audience. No other candidate has been researched as much as this presidential contender. No other candidate has as many apathetic voters, first-time voters, and even party-switching voters pledging their unwavering support on Election Day. January 01, 2008Permalink
Jesse Benton, Paul's spokesman, said it was a "big mistake" not to include Paul, especially given Paul's recent success in fundraising. He said the campaign has been trying to reach Fox News to get an explanation for the decision, but its calls had not been returned.
"There very well might be some bias," Benton said. "Ron brings up some topics that aren't very popular with Fox News, as in fiscal responsibility and withdrawing from the war in Iraq ... that does leave us scratching our heads a little bit about whether it was deliberate. Based on metrics, I don't see how you can possibly exclude Dr. Paul." January 01, 2008Permalink
1# Why has a “longshot” “fringe candidate” like Ron Paul received more donations from the military than all other Presidential candidates, Republican and Democrat? Q2, Q3
2# Why did Ron Paul post a 114% increase in Q3 fundraising while “top tier” candidates like Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, and John McCain, posted fundraising decreases of 29%, 40%, and 55% respectfully? January 01, 2008Permalink
The take puts Paul on par with the top fundraisers in the Democratic Party, who outpaced Republicans last year. The campaign of New York Senator Clinton yesterday said she raised more than $100 million for the year, meaning she brought in at least $20 million in the fourth quarter. January 01, 2008Permalink
"I would also like to applaud Congressman Ron Paul for his support and forward thinking in trying to help make law enforcement officers across our nation safer each day," said Wise. Rep. Ron Paul appears to be popular with many US cops. "He's never found it necessary to force police officers to stand with him for photo opportunities the way other presidential candidates such as Hillary Clinton do," said New York Police Officer Edna Aguayo. One police officer claims cops in New York and other states are forced to pose with the likes of Senators Hillary Clinton and John McCain. If an officer refuses, he or she is charged with insubordination by their superiors.
"It's a joke how these cops are used as props during election campaigns. But Ron Paul doesn't pay cops lip service -- he actually works to help them enforce the law," said another cop forced to pose with Sen. Clinton during one of her staged "rallies." January 01, 2008Permalink
“Only Dr. Paul has the ability to inspire Americans to contribute and take action that is necessary if Republicans want to defeat the Democrats in November,” said campaign chairman Kent Snyder.
