Note to the Iowa GOP: Each Republican has the right to hear from Ron Paul

Do those polled trump supporters of Ron Paul? It sure seems that way. oped newsThe grass roots of any political party must tell the party leaders we have the right to hear from any and all candidates.
I think this is one of the reasons why many are leaving political parties in the first place. It seems to me that party leaders select the candidate and tell the base, this is your candidate, now get out and work for him/her. It should be the other way around where the candidate is selected by the grass roots voters.

Ron Paul makes big waves with little campaign

Paul believes he is "tapping into a huge sense of frustration" that is newsleadereven bigger than he ever imagined.
"They are tired of the war, and they are tired of spending and tired big government and finally they have heard a message" that makes sense, he said.
Paul is already advertising on the radio in South Carolina. And with millions in the bank and a fraction of the overhead his competitors have, he'll have a voice when it counts in early primary and caucus states.

Financial Crisis, Financial Windfall Give Ron Paul Credibility Boost

What happened? The price of gold increased 27% in the past eight months. The dollar has fallen markedly against most other world currencies. The bursting of the housing bubble led to a massive Federal Reserve bailout of banks and hedge funds that should have known better than to take on billions in questionable mortgage debt. Americans are becoming painfully aware that their dollars are buying less and less, regardless of what the government's Consumer Price Index might say. Suddenly Ron Paul is making sense to a lot of everyday people, not just those who have always considered the Federal Reserve an unnecessary and unconstitutional drain on the wealth of the American people. Suddenly, millions of voters are a lot more interested in a presidential candidate who is talking about sound money, and sound monetary policies.

As an example, you were asked significantly fewer questions yet received the loudest applause. Despite the fact that you win debate and straw polls, the media has not, overall, recognized your success, preferring to "admonish" you for your position on the Iraq war (e.g., Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly). Why Ron Paul Can Win It All

And herein lies the really exciting part of the Paul candidacy, and the lewrockwellreason I expect the $4.2 million record will be eclipsed sooner or later by another one even bigger. Unlike most politicians, Ron Paul commands real respect and admiration from a large and very diverse group of Americans, support which is growing by the day. When people believe in a candidate, they give freely and on multiple occasions.
With the tremendous new publicity Ron Paul has achieved the past couple days, his message is getting out to a wider and wider audience, making his voluntary donor base larger and larger. Unlike the establishment candidates tapping into their existing lists, he is actually creating new voters. The phenomenon is self-replicating and because the message of his campaign is very appealing to so many different people, it is spread willingly and genuinely.

Ron Paul likes to make one thing perfectly clear: he is a Republican.
Yes, he abandoned the Republican Party and ran as the Presidential Candidate of the Libertarian Party twenty years ago in 1988, but who hasn't had a few youthful transgressions? He quickly saw the folly of 3rd party politics and returned to the party nurtured by the spirit of Ronald Reagan and Thomas Jefferson.
